The Curriculum

All students in Years 9-12 receive a curriculum handbook in Term Three.  It outlines the courses offered in the following year and details qualifications courses lead to.

Year 9

All students study English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Physical Education and Health.  Students choose six half year options.  At present students choose from Art, Music, Performing Arts, French, Maori, Japanese, Samoan, Graphics, Horticulture, Text Information Management and Extra English.  One arts, one technology and one IT option are compulsory.  Students choose their options at their enrolment interview.

Year 10

Students follow a similar course to Year 9 but they take three options.

Year 11

Most students take five subjects but some are able to study six.  English and Mathematics are compulsory.  We also recommend all students study a Science course.

Year 12

Students take six subjects.  English is compulsory.  There are a number of courses that are only available at Year 12 level.  To gain UE students must ensure they have gained the correct literacy and numeracy credits.

Year 13

Students take a minimum of five subjects.  A wide range of courses are available.

Course outlines for 2010 will be added as soon as they are available
