The Curriculum

All students in the current Years 9-12 receive a curriculum handbook in Term Three.  It outlines the courses offered in the following year and details qualifications courses lead to.

Year 9

All students study English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Physical Education and Health.  Students choose six half year options.  At present students can choose from Creative Writing, Digital Technology, Food Technology, Forensic Science, French, Graphics, Managing Money, Materials Technologies (Fabrics, Metal and Wood), Media Studies, Music, Outdoor Education, Performing Arts (Drama), Samoan, Te Reo Maori and Visual Art (Painting and Drawing).

The selection of at least two arts and two technology options is required to fit with timetabling requirements.  Students choose their options at their enrolment interview. Languages run for the full year - and count as two options.

Year 10

Students follow a similar course to Year 9 but they can only select three options as each runs for a full year.

Year 11

Students take six subjects - English and Mathematics are compulsory.  We also recommend all students study a Science course.

Year 12

Students take six subjects.  English is compulsory.  There are a number of courses that are only available at Year 12 level.  To gain UE students must ensure they have gained the correct literacy and numeracy credits.

Year 13

Students take a minimum of five subjects.  A wide range of courses are available.

Course outlines for 2012 will be added as soon as they are available
