Quote of the week

“The greatest revolution of our generation is the discovery that human beings, by changing the inner attitudes of their minds, can change the outer aspects of their lives”

William James

Social Studies

James, of course, was an American philosopher and what might interest today's students is that the generation that he was describing was that of the 1870s

Things always change - but often they stay the same!

What is Social Science?

"The social sciences learning area is about how societies work and how people can participate as critical, active, informed, and responsible citizens. Contexts are drawn from the past, present, and future and from places within and beyond New Zealand."
